A true hidden gem in La Fortuna! Right by the surfbreak, cozy and affordable rooms, warm showers, and such a chill place to hang out with great food and delicious coffee.The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. I travelled solo but never felt alone :) I’d definitely come back next time I’m in town!
Honestly this place is so incredibly magical you can't describe it, but I will try: When you enter the Baja Station you get greeted with a warm, welcoming and chill communal area and ocean views right next to the station. You'll find the Café on your left side, where you can get tasty coffee and drinks. And an art atelier on your right where you can browse local prints, art and shirts. There's a place to do Yoga, hammocks to hang out and the best thing is that they do live music jams on Sundays! On top of that, the accommodations are truly unique with a love for detail. You just want to stay there for weeks and weeks, watching the whales from your tiny house window, going out to snorkel, surf or kayak... There's just so much to do in and around the water. All that said my favorite part of staying at Baja Station was the community! I felt so welcomed by many like minded people and especially enjoyed the outdoor movie nights :) I wish I could stay here forever!
Such a cute relaxing place! You can stay the night or hang for the day sipping on cold beer or fresh fruit licuados! The best part really is Isla from Spain that was running the place while we were there. She is so nice, just authentic kind of natural nice . Thank you for everything and for providing a comfortable shaded space for us! Muchas gracias
Such a great space to hangout, meet cool people and enjoy the vibes! The cafe is super cute with a view of the ocean, good coffee and cheap beer. It is right on the ocean and waking up to a beautiful sunrise and almost always a humpback whale was an unforgettable experience. The accommodations are affordable and well kept and every Sunday there is incredible music at the jam sessions. Really really enjoyed my experience at the Baja Station!
Baja Station is a true haven of peace. Everything about the place feels calm, clean, and thoughtfully cared for, making it incredibly easy to relax from the moment you arrive. The atmosphere is quiet and grounding, perfect for switching off and slowing down. What really makes Baja Station special is the people and volunteers, warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They give the place its soul and make you feel at home rather than just hosted. Simple, peaceful, and restorative, it’s the kind of place you leave feeling lighter and already wanting to return.
Such an awesome place to hang out! Great coffee, very friendly and helpful owner, free wifi and some nice hammocks to relax in with a beautiful view of the beach. Apparently there’s live music every Sunday afternoon, plus there was a litter of puppies to play with or adopt while we were there! Would definitely recommend this spot.
The Baja station is the perfect get away for family’s, honeymoon celebrations or the guys on a surf trip !!! The owner and crew are welcoming and kind people to make for the perfect stay or Sunday jam night :) I highly recommend the Baja station for your next getaway
It's a piece of heaven at La Fortuna beach. Literally 30 seconds of walking to the beach, a quiet area where you can relax, do watersports (surf, kayak, paddleboard), watch whales breach while sitting on the beach. The rooms are clean and characterful, the outdoor kitchen quickly became my favorite spot to cook. The Baja Station is a project of music, art and science. It is a self sustaining living space creating no emissions, solar powered, all kinds of waste is recycled/composted/upcycled. I love the sunday jam sessions where musicians and music lovers in the East Cape come together to play and dance. It's a great spot for whale watching and spearfishing, they host boat tours everyday. While it is a forgotten piece of land where you can enjoy the nature and tranquility, all the while the city of San Jose Del Cabo is only 30 minutes of drive away where you can get a piece of bustling city life, enjoy the bars and restaurants and resupply. I can't recommend this place more.
